Subrange 8. Combining abbreviation marks: E700 - E7FF

This range includes those abbreviation signs which typically occupy a position above, through or below another base line character. - A few precomposed characters are included in subrange 9 below.

Comment: Combining hooks might be included here, although they are not abbreviation marks as such, cf. subrange 2 H above.
