Reception
On Wednesday, June 9, from 7 pm to 8 pm, all registered conference participants
and accompanying persons are invited to a free reception hosted by the
City of Bergen. The reception will take place at Håkonshallen,
a medieval banqueting hall built by King Håkon Håkonsson (1247-1261).
It is a national monument situated at Bryggen in the harbour. The hall
was severely damaged by the explosion of a ship in 1944 but was rebuilt
and is now used for official events.
We ask that all participants be present before 7 pm. and bring
the printed invitation obtained at the conference registration desk. A
representative of the City of Bergen will welcome participants. Drinks
and light refreshments will be served. The reception will last one hour.
The place can be reached by foot in about ten to fifteen minutes from the
city center.
Conference Dinner
On Friday, June 11, from 7:30 pm, there will be a conference dinner for
participants and accompanying persons. The dinner will be at Nordnes
Ende, a restaurant situated at the seafront near the end of Nordnes
peninsula. The address is Nordnesboder 7. The dinner will be mainly based
on fish and shellfish delicacies, but alternatives are available for people
who signal their dietary requirements in advance. There will be a performance
by the male student chorus Arme
Riddere. The dinner must be prepaid at registration and tickets obtained
at the registration desk must be brought to the restaurant.
